Net-zero buildings: Where do we stand?

Venue: The Climate Pledge Theatre, Pavilion 93, Hall 5
Date: 8 November
Time: 17:15 – 18:30 GMT
Description: To get the construction industry on track to reach global climate targets, all companies need to start measuring the full carbon footprint of their real estate assets. We must integrate whole life carbon (WLC) assessment in all construction projects; have a shared definition for what “net-zero” buildings mean and start setting absolute decarbonization targets. These practices need to be mainstreamed through wide collaboration across the entire building system value chain so that every actor pulls in the same direction.

Speakers include:

Anna Akesson, Senior Environmental Manager, Skanska
Chris Carroll, Director Building Engineering, Arup
Esther An, Chief Sustainability Officer, City Developments Limited
Jo da Silva, Global Sustainable Development Director, Arup
Luca De Giovanetti, Manager Science-based Targets, WBCSD
Mike de Silva, Sustainability Manager, Bechtel
Roland Hunziker, Director Sustainable Buildings & Cities, WBCSD
