Description: This session will focus on how sustainable working forests and forest products play an important role in climate change mitigation and can help to accelerate the transition to an inclusive net-zero economy. It will explore three important pillars: (1) the opportunities offered by the forestry sector to enable the global transition to a net-zero economy; (2) the opportunity for forest products such as sustainable mass timber to help reduce the embodied carbon footprint of buildings and cities; and (3), the role of sustainable forest management to enhance essential ecosystem services.
