Net Zero Buildings: What does it mean?

Location: Buildings Pavilion (Zone C, Area 5,  lot n. 113)
Host: WBCSD
Date: 12 November 2022
Time: 12:30–13:30 (EET)

Description: Net zero and net-zero buildings are terms that have become part of the familiar narratives for the built environment and they are often used when defining climate goals. But do we all mean the same when using them? Small or big differences in interpretation (such as the debates around carbon vs. energy, operational vs. whole life, offset vs. removals, etc.) are common.

With this fishbowl-style session, we will provide clarity on alignments and discuss some of these interpretations and their differences. The objective is to clarify what is best needed for achieving the 1.5 C goal and strengthen collaboration toward net zero.
