Shifting Gears: accelerating delivery through collaborative action in power, industry, transport, and buildings

The Breakthrough Agenda and the Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) welcome you to a landmark event at COP29.  This session will bring together Ministers, industry leaders, and senior representatives from key international organizations. The event will showcase the progress being made, the shared high ambitions for the year ahead,  and the areas where strengthened collaborative action is most urgently needed to help all regions and in particular countries in the global south.  

Across three sessions, the event will deep dive into the urgent need for demand-stimulating policies to accelerate decarbonization across multiple sectors. 

• Session 1: State of Global Sector Transitions, Ensuring No Country or Region is Left Behind (15:45-16:45) 

• Session 2: Making clean industrial projects bankable – the need for demand-stimulation policies (16:45-17:45) 

• Session 3: From R&D to financing: critical areas of international collaboration (17:45-18:30) 

WBCSD has partnered with the Breakthrough Agenda to ensure that the voice of business is fully integrated into the Breakthrough Agenda strategy. As part of this partnership, WBCSD recently launched the Business Breakthrough Barometer, providing insights from leading businesses on the pace of the net zero transition.
