Scope 3 Emissions in Agriculture and Food Roundtable

24 June, 11.30-13.00, Godrej One (Invite Only)

This is a C-level roundtable hosted by Godrej and moderated by WBCSD, convening participants from the agriculture and food value chain across India with the aim of improving access to accurate and reliable scope 3 emissions data long the value chain. The focus will be on commodities with high climate impacts in India including livestock, dairy, wheat and rice.

The agriculture and food (A&F) sector drives about 30% of global GHG emissions – of which India represents 7%. The sector is unique in mitigating climate change through emissions reduction and removals. 70% of A&F emissions are driven by land use change and on-farm, which dominate most corporate footprints.

WBCSD developed a Scope 3 Action Agenda for Agrifood which summarizes the key challenges and needs of Ag & Food companies regarding scope 3 data and transparency and action areas for WBCSD and partners to unlock action in the sector.

During the roundtable, we aim to leverage insights from this work to trigger a conversation on the specific challenges in India and relating to particular commodities. We will discuss where there is interest in and need for collaboration across the value chain and with partners to bring greater transparency and improve the quality and usability of scope 3 data.
