Aligning Financial Institutions and Real Economy Players for Effective Climate and Nature Action

co-hosted with the Singapore Sustainable Finance Association (SSFA)

7 May, 4.30pm – 6.00pm

Understanding the climate-nature nexus—where climate change and biodiversity loss are deeply interconnected—is essential to drive effective action. While global targets have been set and governments are forming National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPS), financial institutions (FIs) and real economy corporates must also align financial flows with nature and climate goals. Co-organised by WBCSD and SSFA, this event will explore barriers and opportunities to mobilising finance for climate and nature by bridging the gap between FIs and businesses to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon, nature-positive economy.

Objectives of this session:

  • Foster mutual understanding: Discuss the different barriers and challenges as well as the needs that FIs and Businesses face in navigating this transition. Learn from successful case studies what works.
  • Identify actionable steps for businesses and financiers to take toward a low-carbon, nature-positive economy
  • Breaking down the silos: How can FIs and businesses collaborate across industries and sectors to create impact at scale?
