Description: To take effective action on to halt and reverse the loss of nature, businesses and financial institutions need information about their impacts and dependencies on nature, and the risks and opportunities they are facing as a result of these. There are a number of data tools already available to businesses and financial institutions and others are in development.
This interactive session will offer space for business and finance sector representatives to discuss use cases for selected biodiversity data tools (e.g. ENCORE, IBAT, Trase). Representatives from business and financial institutions will be invited to share their success stories in leveraging biodiversity data tools for decision-making as well as give feedback on potential areas of improvement.
This session is organised by the WBCSD in partnership with the Capitals Coalition, UN Environment Program World Monitoring and Conservation Centre (UNEP-WCMC) and ShareAction as part of a new EU Horizon funded project “SUSTAIN” (Strengthening Understanding and Strategies of business To Assess and Integrate Nature).
