Description: The UNCBD Food Day – Strengthening Nature-Positive Food Systems – will focus on transforming food systems to reverse biodiversity loss and achieve food security and nutrition for all. Biodiversity provides the foundation for development, economies, global security and human wellbeing, as is formulated in the Sustainable Development Goals. It will also look at cross-cutting policy responses spanning multiple global agreements. It will help countries, organizations and the science community develop stronger plans, actions for implementation to achieve the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework under the Convention on Biological Diversity targets.

This session will be the opportunity to deep-dive into the role of agriculture and food companies in scaling nature-positive food systems and deforestation-free supply chains through the implementation of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. During this panel discussion, business leaders and experts will share their views and practical solutions to achieve greater corporate accountability in assessing their dependencies on nature, measuring impacts and tracking efforts to halt and reverse nature loss.
