Creating 100% living incomes and wages in food systems
Addressing inequality is essential to building a sustainable food system. Income polarization and wage stagnation are key drivers, alongside the rising costs of essential services, work fragility and transition, persistent gender and race gaps and failing safety nets. At this session, private and public sector senior leaders will launch a Coalition of Action to accelerate action on the most effective levers to building living incomes and wages.
Accelerating and scaling investment in soil health
This session will aim to demonstrate collective commitments from business and reach out to government, farmer organizations, NGOs and other key stakeholders to build a multi-stakeholder consensus on how to scale and accelerate investments into soil health.
Bridging food science and policy through dialogue
This session will be centered upon the power of convening multi-stakeholder dialogues to co-create policy asks for policymakers on food systems transformation, with a specific focus on agri-food production and equitable livelihoods.
Scaling sustainable rice: Innovations from paddy to plate
A key part of the solution to this challenge is innovation across the value chain. In this Pre-Summit affiliated session, speakers with extensive experience of the landscape will speak on the innovative technologies and instruments making sustainable rice feasible.
Food processing for safety, nutrition, and sustainability
This dialogue will explore how food processing and processed food contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) well as the objectives of the United Nations Food Systems Summit.
Stockholm World Water Week 2021
Join us at the virtual Stockholm World Water Week where WBCSD will lead a series of sessions on Water. The theme for this year is Building Resilience Faster- with a focus on concrete solutions to water-related challenges, starting with climate crisis and including water scarcity, food security, health, biodiversity, and impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference
The second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference will be held on 14-16 October 2021 in Beijing, China. In partnership with DESA and other business organizations, WBCSD will co-host the Business Forum “The Role of Business in Advancing Sustainable Transport”.
