Peter Bakker, President and CEO of WBCSD, and Keryn James, WBCSD Executive Committee Vice Chair and CEO of ERM, will host a private virtual roundtable discussion on WBCSD’s recent report “Vision 2050: Time to Transform” and the business and regulatory shifts around ESG that are changing the landscape for investors and companies.
It is becoming increasingly well understood within the business and finance community, that future success depends on thriving communities to trade with and a healthy planet to exist on. Achieving our vision of 9+ billion people, living well, within planetary boundaries is more urgent than ever as critical challenges (such as the climate emergency, biodiversity loss, and mounting inequality) increasingly affect our ability to run our businesses. Vision 2050: Time to Transform provides an aspirational shared vision and framework for action that guide the global business community in its efforts to drive the transformations needed to deliver long term societal, environmental and business prosperity. Finance and investment plays a central role in the achievement of Vision 2050.
This roundtable will bring together leaders from corporates and the financial sector. Speakers representing WBCSD, business and finance will share their insights on what companies and investors can and must do to help drive the transition to a more sustainable prosperous world.
