WBCSD’s Redefining Value (RV) Program is at the start of a new cycle as the current work program and funding draws toward the end. With this context in mind, the RV Program will take a bold new strategic direction to define, influence and enable the transition from shareholder to stakeholder capitalism over the next five years.
There is serious work to do. Stakeholder capitalism is not yet real for business. There is no shared definition, the role of business is not yet clear, and there’s no roadmap for moving from shareholder to stakeholder value. Because of this, the system architecture is focused on shareholder and financial value, so companies who consider the wider system and stakeholder value aren’t yet rewarded.
As part of this new strategic approach, the Redefining Value Program is launching five new projects under the RV Program: What is stakeholder capitalism; Making stakeholder capitalism actionable; Redesigning engagement with capital markets; TCFD implementation; and Shaping sustainable finance policy. Join this virtual event to find out more about the new projects, the strategic approach and how WBCSD members are integral to this new agenda.
