Accelerating the Industrial & Land Sector Transformations of the World’s Most Populous Country – Second Edition
The 2nd edition of the WBCSD India Connect took place as a two-day set of meetings dedicated to advancing Indian solutions to the global challenges of scaling green energy, circular and regenerative production, and more inclusive development.
How corporations deliver their transitions and position their leadership in response to global shifts in disclosure, supply chains, and technology remains critical to their continued competitiveness and India’s growth story. This event was strategically positioned to accelerate sustainable industrial and land sector transformations by business, using data, science, and collaboration.
This year, we convened our member companies with relevant stakeholders to exchange on how to operationalize supply chain decarbonization, circularity, responses to the evolving disclosure landscape, scaling electric vehicles and infrastructure, and sustainable agrifood.

Co-hosted with JSW, alongside WBCSD members KPMG, ERM, and our global network partner, CII, the event brought together key stakeholders to drive sustainable business practices across India‘s rapidly evolving economy.
Key takeaways from WBCSD India Connect 2025
- Strong alignment on value creation & the business case for sustainability
Government and industry leaders reinforced the importance of integrating sustainability into business strategy, with discussions focusing on clean air, affordable clean energy, green infrastructure, and resilient supply chains, all underpinned by decision-useful disclosure.
- CPAS: A compelling diagnostic tool
WBCSD’s Corporate Performance & Accountability System (CPAS) proved to be a compelling diagnostic tool, helping businesses identify solutions, enhance internal collaboration, and align with capital markets.
- Supply chain innovation on the rise
Circularity initiatives are thriving, particularly in the agri-food sector, with NABARD’s commitment to gap financing creating new opportunities for scalable impact.
- Scaling India’s ZEV transition
Businesses called for coordinated action across the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) value chain, emphasizing the need to map infrastructure investment and design innovative financing solutions to enable large-scale e-freight deployment. Beyond the insights and action points, the event fostered a vibrant community atmosphere, with members expressing strong appreciation for WBCSD’s in-person and online engagement.
