Race to Zero Dialogue: Building to net zero together

18 November 2020, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm GMT / 9:30 am – 3:30 pm CET

Convened by the High-Level Climate Champions for Climate Action, the UNFCCC’s Race-to-Zero Dialogues will chart how entire sectors are investing in an accelerated transition towards a zero-carbon future.

As lead co-host of the Built Environment Dialogues with the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction and the World Green Building Council, WBCSD will convene dialogues focusing on radical collaboration, strategic approaches, and tools to drive transformation of the buildings and construction sector.

The buildings and construction sector is responsible for almost 40% of energy and process related CO2 emissions globally – its construction materials generate considerable waste and the buildings process and operation are a key energy consumer. The built environment dialogues focus on radical collaboration and on increasing ambition by each actor along the value chain to enable each other to race to zero together. It will feature strategic approaches and tools which can drive sector transformation, such as pathways and regional roadmaps.
